The 3-day chimpanzee habituation tour in Kibale National Park Uganda offers an immersive primate experience, perfect for wildlife enthusiasts. The safari begins with a scenic drive from Kampala to Kibale and on the second day, will be dedicated to a chimpanzee habituation tour in the forest which will last for about 6 to 8 hours but only 4 hours will be dedicated to you to follow these beautiful primates.
On the last day, have an option tour of the Isunga cultural community to immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Batooro and Bakiga. Head back to Kampala to conclude an unforgettable adventure in Uganda’s primate capital.
The safari will begin early morning after breakfast and you will transfer to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The drive lasts between 5 to 6 hours passing through a scenic countryside of rural villages, tea plantations, roadside markets, and more. Have a chance to stop for refreshments, photos, and a hot lunch in Fort Portal with its scenic views of Rwenzori mountain ranges. Depending on the arrival time, you can have an optional activity, such as taking a city walk on Fort Portal or visiting Bigodi Swamp.
After an early breakfast, head to the briefing point in Kanyanchu now to get an insight into today’s experience. Be grouped on an overage number of fellow trekkers, be told about the dos and don’ts, be told about the experience will take, be assigned to the park rangers and Porters, and more.
The trek will begin and on meeting the group/community of chimpanzees, spend a maximum of 4 hours with chimps learning about their behaviors of movements, playing, searching for food, and more. This means that the overall experience will last for about 6 to 8 hours but you can spot other creatures like small primates, birds, butterflies, and more. After, return and retire at the lodge as you prepare for the next day’s departure
Take an optional activity after breakfast by visiting the Isunga Cultural Community to get an insight into the Batooro and Bakiga cultures through community walks, cultural experience, basket weaving, and crater lakes exploration to the top of the world.
After beginning the journey back to Kampala a scenic drive that will create everlasting memories. Arrive and head to the agreed Drop-off point in Kampala/Entebbe and this will mark the end of the safari.
