Update yourself with the sound and sight of the earth’s mammals and primates. The choice of Uganda takes you to the home of the largest concentration of mountain Gorillas on earth. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda and with four sectors where you will check out the Apes in one of them.
Gorillas are the most powerful primates on earth with over 98% human-like DNA. Though not promised; it would be of great expectation to find one if not all four of the Big Five Cats of Africa; namely; the lions, leopards, buffalos, and Elephants in Queen Elizabeth National Park. At Lake Mburo National Park; you will introduce yourself to the animals on foot while hoping to have an up-close look at zebras and Impalas among others. This is a road trip, starting and ending at Entebbe International Airport.
At the airport, our safari guide will happily welcome and brief you about Uganda and why it is the pearl of Africa. After driving to your lodge for refreshment and check-in. The evening hours are dedicated to city tours as you will take to the shopping centers, Crafter Village, Uganda Museum, Gadhafi mosque, and Amin’s Torture chambers where it is claimed that one of the former presidents of Uganda tortured whoever opposed him. After exploring Uganda’s only capital city, as well as making some purchases of any missing items, return to the lodge for dinner and a nap.
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park. The Journey time is 3-4 hours, with a great view of busy towns, and plantations. Lake Mburo National Park is the only park with zebras and the Impalas. You will arrive in the Afternoon hours, and check in to the lodge for Lunch. The evening will be set aside for bird watching while looking out for the sought-after shoebill stocks. At sunset, end the day at the lodge with dinner and a sweet slumber.
Wake up for a walking safari. Whereas it is unbelievable how one can walk in a national park; Lake Mburo ranger guides make you appreciate it and understand that it is one of the best things to do here. Walk as you watch the zebras, impalas, warthogs, and more graze. More birds can be spotted on the trail. If you can ride, we will also arrange for a cycling experience in the wild.
There are no lions and common leopards in this territory that can be a threat to man. After the 3-4 hour adventure, have lunch, and an evening boat cruise to calm down with water and appreciate the serenity. Lake Mburo harbors among others hippos and crocodiles which one gets to watch at a safe distance. Dinner and an overnight will be at the lodge.
After the first meal of the day, depart a savannah grassland to a tropical rainforest. It is a change from mammals to primates and an opportunity to meet your relatives in their natural habitat. Mountain Gorillas only adapt to high altitude places thus the reason why half of them call Uganda home. Arrive and check in to the lodge for dinner and a nap.
Get your day started and rolling with a cup of coffee. Afterward, transfer to the park headquarters for a trekking briefing by the ranger guide who will explain the trekking dos and don’ts, assign a Gorilla family for a group of not more than 8 people. The trek begins, taking about 1-8 hours depending on how far the Gorillas have moved and one’s trekking speed. Upon locating them, you have an hour for studying, taking photos and relaxing with your cousins.
Lunch in the bush, and thereafter you will return to the lodge for refreshment. The last hours of the day come with an interaction with one of the shortest people on earth, whose history is as hunter and gatherers beneath the Virunga ranges. End this day with a satisfying dinner meal.
Start your day with a cup of coffee, before checking out for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park; the second largest and most visited national park in Uganda. The route to the park is gifted with lots of plantations and eye-catching sceneries. Lunch will be served en route, as you get your lodge at the park in the evening hours for dinner and sweet slumber.
To make the most of this day; your breakfast follows a three to four-hour game drive in the northern part. The driver guide who knows the wildlife more than anything else will transfer his knowledge, explaining of the birds, plants, animals and the stunning landscape there is to glance at. Though there is no guarantee of what to get to encounter; look for among others; the lions, leopards, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, buffalos, and lots more in the open savannah grassland. There will be breakfast in the wild, followed by a Lunch break.
In the afternoon, there will be a two to three-hour boat cruise at Kazinga channel where you get to have an up-close view of the hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds, and lots more. At sunset, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Wake up at sunrise for a cup of coffee and check out of the lodge for a transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to the next destination. The next stop will be for Lunch, and the equator to watch the demonstration of the imaginary line crossing between the northern and southern hemispheres. Our driver guide will happily drop you at the agreed drop-off point for dinner and a nap.
