This 14-day Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari takes you to the most spectacular destinations and cultural experiences offering an unforgettable journey filled with diverse wildlife encounters, breathtaking landscapes and immersive cultural interactions. The adventure begins by visiting Lake Mburo National park through Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking and then to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives and boat cruises. The safari will end by visiting Murchison Falls NP and Kidepo Valley NP. In the middle of the safari, take a Fort Portal city tour to learn about this historical town in the Tooro region.

our Day-by-Day Itinerary

The safari begins with a pick-up from any agreed point by the driver guide and he will immediately make a transfer to Lake Mburo National Park a journey taking about 3 hours. The journey is amazing as you encounter beautiful landscapes and the view of the Uganda equator. Lake Mburo National Park is known to be the smallest savannah park in Uganda but with unique wildlife such as impalas, elands and zebras. Arrive and head to the lodge for your dinner and night stay.

Have a morning breakfast and head for a game drive in the park where encounter different animals such as elands, warthogs, impalas, zebras and more followed by a boat cruise after lunch to see crocodiles, hippos and varieties of birds such as fish eagles, kingfishers, vultures and more. Late evening, have an option of horseback riding or a guided nature walk for another adventure.

Leave for Bwindi National Park with enroute stopover in Mbarara to visit the Ankole-Kigezi Museum. The park is known for homing the endangered mountain gorillas and has almost half of the world’s population. The journey is rewarding as you pass through the rolling landscape covered by terraced hills, forests, and many more. Head to the lodge for your accommodation.

This day is the most anticipated moment of the safari and this will begin with breakfast followed by a briefing at the park headquarters to be provided with the guidelines to follow while trekking the gorillas. Trekking will Begin with the help of the park ranger and Porters and it will last for about 2 to 6 hours including an hour in the presence of the gorillas while taking photos.

After the experience, head back to the lodge for lunch which will be followed by a Batwa community tour at the edge of the forest. Learn about the way of life of these people through dress code, traditional music and dances, tasting meals and more. Head back to the lodge for your dinner and night stay.

Have breakfast and this might be a cup of coffee or tea, check out and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park a home to the rare tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. An enroute game drive through this area rewards you with an opportunity to spot these unique predators as the rest in the fig trees. On arrival, head to the lodge for your dinner.

The day begins with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, a prime location for spotting lions, leopards, elephants, warthogs, Uganda kobs and buffaloes among others. Take an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel for bird watching and animal viewing such as buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, pelicans, Egrets, hamerkops and many more others. The day will end with an evening game drive back to the lodge for your dinner and night stay.

On this day, set off for Kibale National Park, home to the highest concentration of primates in Africa. Upon arrival, an afternoon crater lakes tour offers breathtaking views of the region’s volcanic formations and scenic landscapes covered. The tour is conducted by Isunga Cultural Community Adventure local Guides. As you explore the crater lakes, hike to the top of the world a hill standing at 1445m above sea level offering an aerial view of the surroundings. Head to the lodge for your dinner and night stay.

After a morning briefing, the trek through the lush forest begins, leading to encounters with habituated chimpanzee groups. Spend an hour with the chimps, observing their behavior and interactions while taking and capturing memorable photos. While in the forest, meet other forest creatures like birds, butterflies, lizards and more. After the experience, head back to the lodge with your certificate of trekking, have lunch and leisurely evening.

Have breakfast and head to Fort Portal City to visit some of the notable attractions like the local markets that is Kabudaire, Mugusu and Mpanga markets, visit historical and cultural sites like Amabere Ga’Nyinamwiru caves and Nyakasura Falls, hike to Kyeganywa hill, visit Tooro kingdom, visit the Tooro botanical gardens and more. The day will end by visiting one of the tea Estates in Fort Portal to learn about tea growing in this area.

Have breakfast and head to Murchison Falls National Park the largest protected area in Uganda and known to home the world’s most powerful waterfall that is Murchison falls formerly called the Kabalega Falls. The journey is through the tea plantations, forests, roadside markets and more. Arrive and head to the booked lodge for your dinner.

Have a morning game drive to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, leopards, lions, Rothschild giraffes, bushbucks, duikers, oribis, warthogs, hippos and more. Have a break at the hippo pool for refreshments and bush breakfast. After, take an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile to encounter more of the birds and animals accompanied by stunning views of the falls from the bottom. Hike to op 9f falls and the day will end after returning to the lodge for your dinner.

Have an early breakfast and head to Kidepo Valley National Park a journey that will last for about 7 hours. Kidepo National Park is the true African wilderness since it is locate in the far north Eastern Uganda neighboring Kenya and South Sudan. The park is known to have beautiful untouched scenery homing large herds of buffalos. Head to the lodge with enroute game drive watching elephants, buffalos, baboons, jackals and more.

Take a game drive where explore the beautiful endless plains having animals like Elephants, Zebra, Bush Pigs, Rothschild Giraffes, Eland, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Buffalo, Oribi, Lion, Leopard, Spotted Hyena and many more others. The game drive will last for about 3 hours following lunch. Take a drive a visit the Karamajong community known as Manyattas. Enjoy the beautiful traditional dances and music, dress code, handmade crafts and more. Head back to the lodge and prepare for the next day’s departure.

Have an early breakfast followed by a transfer back to Kampala. On arrival, be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight. End of the tour
