ENJOYING CULTURE
Dust on bare feet, drums that outrun your pulse, and a courtyard in kampala that into the loudest, brightest room in the city. This is where the notebook starts
Every trip earns its place here for one reason: it left dirt on out shoes and a story worth retelling. First up a Sunday afternoon we didn’t plan for and couldn’t have scripted better.
A WELCOME THAT LEFT EVERYONE BLOWN AWAY KAMPALA UGANDA 2026
We hosted visitors that day, and the children wanted the welcome to mean something so the cultural group dancers took the courtyard first setting a rhythm that pulled every guest’s eye to the center.
Dance after dance, the group drew visitors further in, until “watching” stopped being the point. The guests were pulled into the circle themselves, learning the steps in real time, and what started as a welcome turned into a full-blown competition-best moves, biggest efforts, loudest cheer from the children on the sidelines.
Nobody left empty-handed. Gifts were given to all that participated and had something to carry home-proof that they hadnt just watched ,theyd been part of it
